“Art for all!” Photographs, paintings, illustrations, drawings and graphics in small formats and at small prices will be available for a short time only at the short time Gallery, a pop-up project developed by Elli Hurst and Kathrin Winter that has become a visitor magnet in Munich’s Schwabing district.

Ms Winter, Please introduce yourself and your partner briefly!
Before Elli Hurst started dedicating herself to art full time, she worked as a graphic designer. I work as a public relations manager in the cultural sector, but also have some experience organizing and liaising for exhibitions. Elli and I complement each other perfectly and are unbeatably creative once we start developing ideas together.

How did you come up with the idea to open a pop-up gallery?
The concept behind our former Wintersalon was to bring art to people’s homes and turn them into galleries for one evening. That was a fun and very successful concept, and sales were great. Most important, we received positive feedback from the artists and the guests. This made us think about developing the concept further – and the idea for the short time Gallery was born. It offers easy access to art and gives people the opportunity to meet and learn about artists.

What can visitors to the short time Gallery expect?
We showcase a variety of artists, diverse techniques and positions in a community context. Not least because of the size of our gallery, we prefer small formats. These formats are here to stay because they reflect positively on the pricing. Thursdays are “solo-show days” at the gallery and focus on one artist for the entire day. Every solo show ends with a finissage that starts at 6:00 p.m. On all other days, we exhibit a continuously updated selection of fine photographs, paintings, illustrations and graphics.

How long will the exhibition be open? Where is it exactly?
You have four weeks left to visit – the short time Gallery at Wilhelmstr. 27 in Münich-Schwabing will be open until the end of December.
