Everything will revolve around design at Coburg’s freight depot during the Coburg Design Days from 31st May until 5th June. Young creative talents and companies will have the opportunity to present their innovative products and learn together about trends in the design field.
An interesting question will be to what extent design can function as a driver for economy and how design contributes to social development. The topic “cradle to cradle” will, for example, be discussed during a presentation. This field is of particular relevance for product design, especially with regards to the question how products can be developed in the most sustainable way.
Another exciting item on the agenda is the lecture “Entrepreneurs shape Upper Franconia”. This lecture will give insights into how innovation and design can be used for strategic positioning against the competition. The displayed products and stories highlight Upper Franconia’s competencies in the areas of innovation and design.
However, it is not only going to be about listing, but also about joining in yourself: you will have the opportunity to participate in interesting workshops and join-in campaigns. You can, for example, demonstrate your craftsmanship by making wooden toys and lampshades or let your creative energies flow while designing flacons or glass objects.
The event is organised by Verein Coburger Designforum Oberfranken e.V., which cooperates with public and private institutions as well as the economy. The event’s goal is to increase Upper Franconia’s awareness for design-relate topics.
